About CIGF
The Canada Institute for Generational Futures (CIGF), operating publicly as GenFutures Canada, is a Canadian not-for-profit established as an independent convening and collaborative institute dedicated to strengthening education, youth development and institutional capacity in response to the changing needs and opportunities of present and future generations.
CIGF works with educational institutions, researchers, governments, community organizations, employers and other partners to connect knowledge, experience and institutional strengths around shared challenges.
In its current phase, CIGF is emphasizing responsible institutional growth through sound governance, ethical practice, strategic partnerships and evidence-informed learning. We primarily convene, connect, co-design, advise and facilitate collaborative initiatives, while participating in implementation where appropriate and supported by suitable capacity and partnerships.
Our Institutional Focus
CIGF views education as a generational investment that shapes opportunity, leadership, resilience and inclusive prosperity.
We see education, youth development and institutional strengthening as interconnected priorities. Stronger pathways for young people depend not only on individual programs, but also on capable institutions, effective relationships and systems that can adapt over time.
CIGF is particularly interested in how economic, technological, educational and social change is reshaping the opportunities and challenges facing emerging generations—and how institutions can adapt in response.
Mission
